CLUB SERVICE

 Pam Dean, Chair

Much of club service revolves around the activities of the officers.

These officers are:

          Bettina Tolin, President

          Tom Plumb, Past President

          Ken Irwin, President-elect

          Bill Foster, Treasurer

          Sammy Reyes, Secretary

Bob White is our Sargeant at Arms and primarily collects fines and happy dollars.  He also serves as the Assistant District Governor for Area 9.

Our Flag Meister is Tom Plumb.  He maintains the panels of fellowship flags.

The Pilot Bulletin is prepared by Ralph Ayers.

Club programs are scheduled by Bob Fudge.

Our long outdated website was redesigned and is now kept up to date by Tom Plumb, Bob Fudge, and Ralph Ayers.  It is www.pirotary.org.

Tom serves as our PR chair.

The Board has voted to recognize those that serve our club and community—with a Dots for Doers Board.  Bob White has created the recognition board and members have placed dots demonstrating "doing" in each of 11 activities on their badges.

Representation at District events is primarily handled by our ADG and President.

Club Service Social activities include:

Monthly Social Club meetings:  These meetings are held the third Thursday of every month from 5:30-7:00 PM at Pier 19 or Kelly's on the Island.  The purpose of these social club meetings is to draw in more Winter Texan Rotarians giving them a social event as a possible make-up and to enhance fellowship within our own club.

Derry Elementary School:  The choir entertains us with Christmas carols at one of our December meetings.

White Elephant:   Each December we also have a gift exchange “game” at one of our meetings.

Christmas Party:  Once again this year, Pam and Jerry had an incredible Christmas party for club members and spouses.

Raffles:  Committee members handle the club 50/50 raffle which raises funds for club activities.

Projects

Club Service works on member relations by contacting Rotarians about projects, making breakfast before Work Days, bringing desserts on special occasions for Friday meetings, sending member cards.

Family of Rotary are included in bring a youth to Rotary Day, honoring mothers, honoring fathers, a Pie Baking party to bake pies for the annual Food Bank pie donation, family day, sister club events, distribution of flags on flag days, and the annual Christmas party.

Club service also encourages members to attend training seminars and recognizes Rotarians and non-rotarians for their service. Awards include Rotarian of the Year, Non-Rotarian that served the community with Rotarian Values, and the Four Avenues of Service Citation.
